Some tough decisions in life: Where to go to college, what career to pursue, who to marry, and whether or not to attend useless professional development. Last night I was presented with this latter decision to make. I knew that PD on Friday would be mostly useless, but on the other hand, it’s the easiest money I’ve ever earned. I ended up deciding to brave the mental monotony and head in to school today for the final day of PD.

Yes, I know I should have been paying attention, but it was much more interesting to whisper about the most recent caucus results with the other teachers at my table. After a heated (albeit whispering discussion), we all took a pick-a-candidate survey that matches our personal views. Pretty fun and it made for lively discussion in the midst of a boring presentation on classroom management.
