So not only have we now commercialized Christmas, we’ve commercialized Advent, the season in the Christian calendar in which Christmas is anticipated (a season which begins today).
But guess what! Thanks to our good friends at Lego, now we can look forward to awaiting the birth of Jesus with some swashbuckling, treasure hunting, and piraty-talkin’ in the beautiful, yet surprisingly snowy Caribbean.
In all seriousness, I don’t think I’ve yet seen anything quite as ridiculous (and sadly hilarious) as the Lego Pirates Advent Calendar to mark the season. Yes, I get that businesses are in business to make money, and that now’s as good a time as any to do that, but come on people, one must draw the line somewhere.
